12 December 2022

The event was organized by the ONedu Romania Community and iVoluntar – Center for Volunteering, at the House of Culture of the Students in Bucharest, on December 3rd.

The Gala brought together organizations and volunteers from the fields of Education, Youth, Social and humanitarian, Protection of human rights, civic activism and others. Marking International day of the Volunteer, which takes place annually on December 5th, the event aimed to find out more about the stories of the people on the ground who dedicate their time to change, donate and help other people or organizations in our country.

This year, 16 volunteers and volunteer organizations were awarded for all the involvement they showed in the previous year, taking into account the judging carried out by people and personalities with experience in the assigned category or based on the public vote.

Our UTCB student, volunteer within the Academic Foundation of the University, Rusu Maxim, won the 1st Prize at the Social and Humanitarian Category. Max is a third-year student at the Faculty of Building Services Engineering, and his strong desire to bring his contribution to the accommodation process of Ukrainian refugees in our center has been present since the beginning. A citizen of the Republic of Moldova, his support was crucial, as he was able to help the center with the translation and mediation processes as well. Throughout this time, he has shown civic spirit, empathy, professionalism, dedication and motivation.
We would like to thank him for his work and say that we are delighted that his work has not gone unnoticed and has been recognized and rewarded at a national level.

Congratulations Max!
